Terms of Use
- Everything your family enters stays on your device. We don't collect, store, or see any of it.
- The app is free to use. There are no hidden costs, subscriptions, or purchases.
- You're responsible for how your family uses the app, including what tasks you set and what you agree to pay.
- The app is a tool. It helps you organise family contributions. It doesn't make any promises about outcomes.
Section 1
What Family Task Board is
Family Task Board is a free, browser-based tool designed to help families organise household contributions, track which tasks have been completed, and record what children have earned in a given week.
It is not a financial product, a payment service, or a banking application. Any payments or pocket money arrangements you make with your children are entirely between you and your family. The app simply helps you keep track.
The app is operated independently and is not affiliated with any government body, financial institution, or educational organisation.
Section 2
Who can use it
Family Task Board is intended for use by parents or legal guardians who are setting up and managing the board on behalf of their household.
Children use the app under the supervision and guidance of a parent or guardian. By setting up a family board, the adult in the household confirms that they:
- Are at least 18 years old
- Have parental or guardian responsibility for the children using the board
- Take responsibility for all content entered into the app, including task names, amounts, and family information
There are no accounts, registrations, or identity checks. The parent PIN you create is the only access control, and you are responsible for keeping it secure.
Section 3
Your family's information
We do not collect your data. Everything you enter into Family Task Board — your family name, your children's names, your tasks, amounts, and weekly history — is stored only on the device you use. It never leaves your device and is never sent to any server, cloud service, or third party.
This means:
- If you clear your browser data or uninstall the app, your information is permanently deleted
- If you switch devices, you start fresh — there is no account to restore from
- We have no ability to recover lost data on your behalf
We do not use analytics tools, advertising trackers, or cookies. The only external resources the app loads are icon fonts from a public content delivery network, which carry no identifying information.
Section 4
Using the app responsibly
Family Task Board is a tool, and like any tool, how well it works depends on how it's used. We ask that families use the app in a way that is honest, fair, and appropriate for the ages of the children involved.
Specifically, you agree not to use the app in any way that:
- Puts children under unreasonable pressure or treats the board as a disciplinary mechanism
- Records false information or is used to mislead
- Involves tasks or amounts that would be harmful or exploitative to children
We trust families to make sensible decisions. These terms exist not because we expect misuse, but because it's important to name what responsible use looks like.
Section 5
What we can and can't promise
Family Task Board is provided as-is. We do our best to make sure it works reliably, but we can't guarantee that it will always be available, error-free, or compatible with every device and browser.
We are not responsible for:
- Data lost as a result of clearing browser storage or switching devices
- Disagreements between family members about tasks, completion, or payment
- Any financial arrangements made between parents and children using the app
- Technical issues arising from a device, operating system, or browser update
The app is a record-keeping tool. The conversations, decisions, and agreements it supports are yours to make and yours to keep.
Section 6
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time as the app grows or as our thinking evolves. When we do, the updated date at the top of this page will change.
Since we don't hold your contact details, we can't notify you directly. If you use the app regularly, we'd suggest checking this page occasionally. Continued use of the app after changes are published means you accept the updated terms.
Section 7
Questions
If you have a question about these terms or about the app in general, you're welcome to reach out through FridaySandbox.com. We're a small, independent project and we read everything that comes in.
We'd also genuinely love to hear how your family is using the board — what's working, what isn't, and what you wish it could do. That kind of feedback is how this grows into something better for everyone.
